Patrick Sims is a multidisciplinary artist and independent music entrepreneur with a voice built to connect. Whether he's behind the mic, behind the boards, or in front of the camera, Patrick brings an intentional presence to everything he creates—honest, soulful, and rooted in experience. A smooth Texan with a timeless edge, he makes R&B music that cuts deep and lingers, weaving emotional storytelling into modern production with a classic spirit.
Born and raised in Houston, Patrick found his calling early. He was performing publicly by the age of five, drawn to choral music and theater as places where discipline met expression. By thirteen, he was already recording in studios and learning the industry firsthand. From 2002 to 2005, he worked with SuckaFree Records—first as a developing artist, then as an intern—absorbing the realities of the music business while sharpening his craft.
By 2009, Patrick was releasing music that resonated. His breakout single “Chill,” a collaboration with Yves Saint of The Nice Guys, was named Single of the Week by The Houston Press. That same year, he took the stage at Club Soul in Arenas De San Pedro, Spain—his first international performance, and a sign of things to come. Momentum continued: The Houston Press named him Artist of the Month in 2010, and his 2013 single “Hugs & Wishes” reached audiences from Helsinki to Paris through organic word of mouth. Patrick has always led with connection, not clout.
His 2019 project 1104, a collaborative EP with electronic duo Dancintra, pushed his sound further into experimental R&B. Reflecting on the highs and lows of a long-term relationship, it offered a blueprint for the kind of emotionally honest, sonically adventurous work that would define his next chapter.
That next chapter is Love Notes—Patrick’s most personal project to date. Written like a series of letters, each track explores the complexities of love, longing, and emotional accountability. The EP was produced in Los Angeles by longtime collaborator Chris Rockaway, mastered by Shaka “Gldn Eye” Girvan in Brooklyn, and features a standout guest verse from fellow Houston artist Fat Tony. The result is a body of work that’s raw but polished, moody but melodic—music you feel before you fully understand.
Patrick’s influences are as layered as his work: Donny Hathaway, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Mahalia Jackson are foundational, while modern icons like Michael Jackson, Usher, Justin Timberlake, and Kings of Leon helped shape his sound. As an artist, producer, model, and community advocate, Patrick approaches every project with depth and purpose. His work is as much about process as it is about product—a reflection of lived experience, creative independence, and belief in the power of storytelling.
With Love Notes, Patrick isn’t just sharing music. He’s building legacy. And he’s just getting started.
